Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Glen Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Copeland!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson shoots in looking for a takedown. Copeland tries to sprawl out of it but Nelson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Copeland manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Copeland misses with a leg kick.
Copeland throws a wild body kick that Nelson sees coming a mile off.
Nice body punch from Copeland.
Nelson shoots and misses
and Copeland counters with a slapping leg kick.
Nelson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Copeland counters with a low kick, right behind Nelson 's knee.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nelson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Copeland to the ground. Nelson is now in Copeland's guard.

Copeland is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Nelson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Nelson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Nelson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Copeland screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Nelson! Nice submission victory there!
