Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Nugent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starner moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nugent throws a looping overhand right but Starner ducks down to avoid it.

Starner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nugent tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Starner is in Nugent's guard.
Starner trying to control the position from guard on top but Nugent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nugent is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nugent has his foot on Starner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Starner works his way back into a safe position though.
Nugent keeping moving, preventing Starner from controlling successfully.
Starner looking to pass the guard.

Nugent is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Nugent manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nugent has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Starner's face.

Nugent sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Starner gets back to half guard.
Nugent throws a strike but Starner avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Starner has Nugent pulled in close to control his posture.

Nugent drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Starner dives on top into guard.
Starner scoring with some ground and pound.

Nugent looking for subs off his back but Starner has passed one foot through into half guard.
Starner is keen to just control but Nugent is a slippery customer.
Nugent makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nugent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nugent has his foot on Starner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Starner works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nugent had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Starner defends it easily.
Starner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nugent is keeping the position for now.

Nugent is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Starner defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Starner throws a big right hand that misses.
Starner looking to pass the guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Starner trying to control but Nugent is working from the bottom.
Nugent looking to control.
Starner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nugent's guard.
Starner looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Nugent is doing well to control the position and prevent Starner from advancing to side control.
Starner prevents Nugent from improving his position.
Nice strikes from Starner there.
Nugent gets full guard.
Nugent lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Starner!
Nugent prevents Starner from getting the reversal.

Nugent tries to control but Starner wriggling away.
Nugent punishing his opponent with strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice elbow there by Nugent.
Starner is in a horrible position here. Nugent smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Starner is wriggling around trying to escape.
Nugent lands with some strikes.
Poor strikes thrown by Nugent there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Starner slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Starner gets back to full guard.
Nugent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Starner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nugent is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ted Nugent will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Nugent connects with a nice looking jab.
Starner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nugent throws an overhand right that lands on Starner's shoulder, as Starner tries to avoid the shot.
Starner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nugent's head backwards.

Starner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Starner lands in his opponent's guard.

Nugent looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nugent has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Starner is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nugent.

Nugent won't allow Starner to pass to mount.

Starner is keen to just control but Nugent is a slippery customer.
Ted Nugent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Starner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nugent kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Nugent keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Nugent slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Nugent has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Starner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Starner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Nugent sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Starner trying to control the action but Nugent is working from the bottom.

Nugent is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Starner is tapping! Great win for Nugent!
