Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mel Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mel Gibson!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ryan King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King stalks Gibson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gibson's face. Gibson staggers backwards, shaken.
King misses with a series of wild punches.
King fails to land with a series of punches.
King gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Gibson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
King trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

King manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gibson is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

King fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
King tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

King takes Gibson's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Gibson is in trouble.

King is persistently looking for the submission but Gibson is defending it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

King goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Gibson escapes and is now in half guard on top.

King doesn't manage to clinch there - Gibson circles away.

Ryan King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

King really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gibson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and King dives on top into guard.

King is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gibson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Gibson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

King wants to control from the top but Gibson keeps moving.
King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gibson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

King drops back looking for a leg! Gibson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gibson manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Gibson's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryan King.

Gibson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from King.
King throws a series of punches but Gibson avoids them all with ease.

King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
King gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
King lands a nice shot that snaps Gibson's head back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ryan King will probably get the nod.

Gibson wants the takedown. King is fighting it off but Gibson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in King's guard against the cage.

A less than humble Ryan King misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
