Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lion Takanori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Chyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takanori comes to the cage accompanied by Scary. Chyn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I wish . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Takanori, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takanori stuffs the takedown.
Takanori slaps away a takedown attempt from Chyn, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Chyn ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Takanori takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Chyn throws the left hand but Takanori avoids the punch easily.

Ryu Chyn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chyn shoots for a double leg takedown but Takanori sprawls well. He's pushed Chyn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Takanori wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chyn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Chyn throws a looping overhand right but Takanori ducks down to avoid it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Chyn.
Chyn looks to land a combination but Takanori avoids it well.

Chyn shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Takanori manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Let's hope that Chyn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ryu Chyn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

It looks like Ryu Chyn has been cut.
Chyn buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Takanori feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Chyn's calf.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takanori gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Chyn to score an easy takedown into full guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Takanori enables Chyn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Takanori manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lion Takanori.
