Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Roastbeef!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Lawler. Those never looked like landing.
Lawler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lawler tries to clinch there but Roastbeef circles away.
Lawler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Roastbeef paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Roastbeef swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A slow jab from Roastbeef misses its intended target.
Roastbeef throws a looping overhand right but Lawler ducks down to avoid it.
Lawler swings widly with a right hand
and Roastbeef counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lawler's knee momentarily.
Lawler misses with the combination.
Lawler waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Roastbeef.
A nice combination there by Lawler.
Roastbeef lands with a good body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lawler tries to bum rush Roastbeef with a series of wild strikes but Roastbeef uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lawler throws a left and a right that both miss
and Roastbeef counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Roastbeef scores with a nice right hand.

Roastbeef fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lawler to the ground. Roastbeef is now in Lawler's guard.

Roastbeef is keen to just control but Lawler is a slippery customer.
Roastbeef is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lawler is refusing to be controlled, as Roastbeef sits in half guard.

Roastbeef content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Johnny Roastbeef.
Roastbeef throws a jab but it's blocked by Lawler.
Robbie Lawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roastbeef ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lawler moves away.
Lawler doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Roastbeef bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Roastbeef thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Roastbeef tries to score with some ground and pound. Lawler controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Roastbeef lands an elbow.
The referee asks Roastbeef politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Roastbeef prefers to stall for the moment though.
Roastbeef throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Roastbeef has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Roastbeef tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roastbeef has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Roastbeef is trying to move to mount but Lawler reverses beautifully and ends up in Roastbeef's guard.

Roastbeef is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lawler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Roastbeef looking for a guillotine here but Lawler defends easily.
Lawler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roastbeef on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Roastbeef working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lawler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Roastbeef is tightening it up a little... Lawler has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lawler reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lawler taps out! Nice BJJ there by Roastbeef!
