Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donz Mandew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Donz Mandew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Curtis Walker!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mandew gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Walker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch but Mandew swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Walker counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donz Mandew. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A frustrated look appears on Walker's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Mandew managing to block the knees to the body from Walker.
Walker is trying to maintain a safe position but Mandew gets an underhook and turns Walker into the cage.
Walker tries to break free but Mandew pushes him back against the cage.
Mandew goes for a takedown in the clinch but Walker prevents it.
Walker is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Walker gets underhooks to prevent Mandew's takedown attempt.
Mandew wants a takedown.

Walker pulls guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Walker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mandew's guard.
Walker wants to control from the top but Mandew keeps moving.

Walker drops back looking for a leg! Mandew is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mandew manages to kick Walker off! Walker jumps back into Mandew's guard.

Walker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mandew had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walker defends it easily.
Walker passes Mandew's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mandew on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mandew tries to get out of the position.
Mandew is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Walker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Walker blocks the strikes from Mandew.
Walker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mandew does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Walker is taking a breather. Mandew says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mandew tries to roll over but Walker keeps him under control.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mandew keeps working.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Curtis Walker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mandew tries for a takedown but Walker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mandew is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mandew has his takedown stuffed

and Walker moves into the clinch.

Walker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Walker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mandew is fending him off so far but Walker persists. Nope, Mandew circles away and we're back to standing.

Mandew gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mandew is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well.

Mandew throws his legs up looking for a submission but Walker uses it to pass to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Walker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Walker clinches up with Mandew and pushes him back against the cage.
Mandew changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Walker fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Walker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mandew slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Walker is trying to keep Mandew in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mandew postures up and lands a big shot to Walker's brow.

Mandew wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.

Walker is looking for a sweep. Mandew is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mandew really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mandew is working away from the top position though.
Walker is refusing to be controlled, as Mandew sits in half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Walker gets back to full guard.
Walker is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mandew throws a strike but Walker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Walker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mandew will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mandew is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Walker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mandew misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Mandew's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Mandew shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense.
Walker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Donz Mandew is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mandew shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walker defends it nicely.

Walker gets a clinch.

Walker gets control of Mandew's arms and successfully pulls guard. Walker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

and Mandew counters with a single leg into guard. Walker didn't expect that.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Walker throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mandew escapes and throws Walker's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Mandew tries to advance to mount but Walker denies him.
Walker is looking for a sweep.
Mandew has knee on belly momentarily but Walker bucks him off and regains half guard.
Walker is staying active underneath Mandew, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Walker manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Walker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mandew is controlling him.
Walker controls Mandew momentarily but Mandew frees himself.

Mandew got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mandew has managed to get both his arms back between Walker's legs - danger averted.

Mandew tries to free his leg and advance position but Walker is retaining full guard.

Walker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Mandew is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walker is aware though and is defending well.

Well Walker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
