The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira stuffs the takedown.
Fernandes looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nogueira takes the fight into the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nogueira takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Nogueira creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fernandes's defenses.

Nogueira lands an elbow inside that Fernandes shrugs off.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Nogueira's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Nogueira breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nogueira clinches up with Fernandes and pushes him back against the cage.
Nogueira lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Fernandes backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nogueira escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fernandes loses concentration momentarily and Nogueira pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Fernandes crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Nogueira finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Joilton Nogueira!
Joilton Nogueira tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
