PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between River Greywar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Zimmerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greywar comes into the arena with Written in the stars blaring out of the sound system. Zimmerman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Linkin Park-- What Ive Done. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Greywar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That kick from Greywar tenderised Zimmerman's leg. Zimmerman is trying to keep his angry face on.
Greywar blocks the body kick.
Eric Zimmerman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Greywar feints and then cracks Zimmerman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zimmerman down.
Zimmerman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Greywar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Zimmerman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Greywar digs a right hand into Zimmerman's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Zimmerman's gas tank.

Greywar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Greywar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zimmerman lands a leg kick that knocks Greywar off balance momentarily.
Zimmerman closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Zimmerman looks to land a combination but Greywar avoids it well.

and Zimmerman counters with a left and a right that stings Greywar.

Greywar tries to score with a low kick but Zimmerman moves his leg out of the way.
Greywar motions for Zimmerman to come forward. Greywar throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Zimmerman tries to clinch up.
Zimmerman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Greywar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zimmerman somewhat.
Greywar lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Greywar lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Zimmerman has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Zimmerman and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Zimmerman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Greywar throws a right hand that Zimmerman ducks under and follows up with a left that Zimmerman also avoids with ease.
Zimmerman lands a head kick. Greywar smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Greywar is looking to chop away at Zimmerman's legs.
Greywar tries a low kick but Zimmerman avoids it.
Zimmerman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Greywar as he jumps to the side.
River Greywar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Zimmerman.
A right-left combo lands from Greywar.
River Greywar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Greywar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zimmerman.
Zimmerman throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Greywar feints and then cracks Zimmerman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zimmerman down.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Zimmerman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Greywar uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Zimmerman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Greywar tries to buck Zimmerman off but he can't manage it.

Greywar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Greywar tries to get out of the position.

Zimmerman cracks Greywar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zimmerman is landing with some decent strikes but Greywar is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
You get the feeling that Greywar really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Zimmerman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
