The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hammer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Serlal's half guard.

Hammer seems to be working for a kimura but Serlal defends the submission attempt.

Hammer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Serlal has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hammer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Serlal doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hammer.

Hammer looks to land a strike but Serlal avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Hammer tries to free his leg and advance position but Serlal is retaining full guard.

Hammer has gone for a leg lock! Serlal slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hammer's guard.

Hammer has his foot on Serlal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Serlal works his way back into a safe position though.
Serlal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Serlal wants to get up but he can't break Hammer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hammer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hammer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Hammer looking for a guillotine here but Serlal defends easily.

Hammer has an active guard here but Serlal has managed to pass into half guard.

Serlal prevents Hammer from improving his position.

Serlal wants to stand up but Hammer has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hammer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hammer looks for a takedown but Serlal sprawls well.
Serlal throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Hammer looks to throw the jab but Serlal is out of range.
Hammer avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Hammer counters with a shoot takedown. Serlal fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Serlal preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hammer trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Serlal manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Hammer is striking off his back. Serlal thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Hammer works his way to full guard. Good work.
Serlal has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hammer is proving hard to escape from.

Hammer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Serlal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hammer is tightening it up a little... Serlal has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Serlal reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Serlal taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hammer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Smith Hammer!
