Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phoenix Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riley comes into the arena with Ambitionz Az a Ridah blaring out of the sound system. Valentine comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley blocks a low kick nicely.
Valentine avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Riley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Valentine manages to avoid it.
Riley checks a leg kick nicely.
Riley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Riley throws a hook but Valentine blocks it.
Valentine gets the takedown into side control.
Riley dodges the ground and pound from Valentine.
Valentine in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Valentine in side control lands a decent elbow.
Valentine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riley keeps working.
Valentine lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Valentine is putting a hurting on Riley here, landing some big shots from side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Riley is looking for a sweep.
Valentine tries to score with some ground and pound. Riley controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Valentine creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Riley sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Valentine lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Riley down.
Valentine has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The strikes coming from Valentine are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
