Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sonny Silva!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yvel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Yvel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Yvel trying to control the pace.

Yvel decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Silva throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Yvel counters by moving into the clinch.
Silva misses with a knee to the head.
Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Yvel avoids it.
Yvel landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Silva blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Yvel manages to break the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sonny Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Yvel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Silva doesn't seem bothered though.

Yvel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Yvel's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Yvel has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ruben Yvel.
Yvel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Yvel persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.

Yvel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Silva.

Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Yvel can pounce on him.

Yvel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Silva throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Silva takes a knee to the side of the body.

Yvel seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Yvel lands on the inside with an uppercut.

and Yvel counters with a good, hard body kick but Silva shrugs it off.

Yvel shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Yvel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silva cracks the inside of Yvel's front leg.

Well Yvel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
