Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between QL Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taro Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima lands an overhand right.
Mishima fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hicks on the side of the head.
Mishima misses with a takedown attempt - Hicks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mishima shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hicks tries to roll over but Mishima keeps him under control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Hicks throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mishima uses it to pass to side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mishima working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hicks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mishima tries to avoid it but Hicks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mishima to the ground. Mishima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hicks throws a jab but it's blocked by Mishima.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
