Hetfield tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Balabaster sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Hetfield takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Balabaster gets back to full guard.
Hetfield looking to sit in guard and control but Balabaster gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Balabaster postures up in Hetfield's guard and throws a big left but Hetfield blocks it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hetfield connects with a good right hand that stumbles Balabaster. Balabaster circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hugo Balabaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hetfield stuffs the takedown.
Hetfield misses with a body kick.
No joy there for Balabaster, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Balabaster shoots for a double leg takedown but Hetfield sprawls well. He's pushed Balabaster's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hetfield lands a big head kick that sends Balabaster tumbling to the mat! Hetfield takes a step backwards and waves Balabaster back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Balabaster is rocked!

It looks like Hugo Balabaster has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Balabaster drops his hands momentarily. Hetfield doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Balabaster staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Balabaster doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
