Richard's entrance music is killing in the name of. A fine choice. Donkey Richard had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Couture misses with the combination.
Richard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Couture.
Richard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Couture as he avoids it easily.
Couture changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Couture. Those never looked like landing.
Couture takes a swing at Richard's ribcage but misses.
Couture takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Couture throws a sloppy head kick and Richard moves out of range easily.

Richard tries to free his leg and advance position but Couture is retaining full guard.
Couture is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Richard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Couture swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Richard drops back looking for a leg! Couture is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Couture manages to kick Richard off! Richard jumps back into Couture's guard.
Couture utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Richard won't allow Couture to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Couture can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Richard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Couture wriggles free and stands up.
Couture throws a hook to the side of Richard's head but Richard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Couture is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Couture throws a right and a left that both miss.
Luke Couture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Couture misses with an uppercut. Richard saw that one coming.
Richard misses with a wild body shot.
Couture gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Richard passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Richard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Richard tries to advance to mount but Couture denies him.
Couture takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Donkey Richard will probably get the nod.

Richard is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Couture is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
