Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Cash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tuomari Stapelstaden!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stapelstaden throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cash connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Stapelstaden throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cash shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stapelstaden but Stapelstaden pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stapelstaden just misses with a punch to the body.
Stapelstaden swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cash misses with a combination
and Stapelstaden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cash drops Stapelstaden with a left right combo! Cash follows him down to the ground into side control.
Stapelstaden is rocked!
Cash trying to control the position but Stapelstaden is working away.
Stapelstaden is still in real trouble! Can Cash finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cash postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cash tries to advance to mount but can't.
Stapelstaden seems to have recovered his senses.
Cash fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Cash has hold of Stapelstaden's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Stapelstaden tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cash cranks the arm and Stapelstaden screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Stapelstaden, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Johnny Cash!
