And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monattu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griffin defends it nicely.
Monattu shoots in looking for a takedown but Griffin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Monattu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Griffin darts in and clinches Monattu up against the cage.

Monattu is looking to break free of the clinch but Griffin has double underhooks.
Griffin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Monattu.

Griffin pulls Monattu into guard.

Monattu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Griffin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Monattu has managed to get both his arms back between Griffin's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henry Monattu has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Monattu misses with a takedown attempt - Griffin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Monattu with that takedown attempt.

Griffin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Monattu's guard.

Monattu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Griffin rolls with it to try and escape but Monattu cranks on the arm and Griffin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
