Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Turol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turol has chosen Fort Minor - Remember the name as his entrance music. Richard Harris could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mike Turol's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Turol!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Harris.
A clash of legs there as Harris blocks the low kick.
Turol throws a nice outside leg kick.
Harris blocks a low kick nicely.
Mike Turol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris tries to move into range but Turol moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Turol thumps Harris with a low kick.
An inside leg kick from Turol misses.

Harris shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Turol napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Harris content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Harris has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Harris moves out of range of the strikes.
Harris blocks a leg kick.
Turol pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Turol gets caught napping as Harris dives in and scores a takedown. Turol manages to retain guard.

Turol wants to stand and escape but Harris is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Richard Harris.
Turol lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Harris forces Turol back against the cage and clinches.
Turol wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Harris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Harris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Turol was covering up waiting for the punch and Harris finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Harris stays in close to Turol's body and controls the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Turol wants to stand but Harris is controlling the position.

Richard Harris has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Turol is looking to clinch.
Turol swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Turol misses with a straight left.
Turol misses the jab.
Turol throws a hook to the side of Harris's head but Harris sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Nice sprawl there from Turol as Harris shoots in.
That kick from Turol tenderised Harris's leg. Harris is trying to keep his angry face on.
Turol fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harris looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Turol misses with a two punch combination.
Turol throws a big shot that misses.
Turol looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Turol tries to clinch up but Harris circles away and keeps his distance.
Turol stuffs the takedown attempt from Harris. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.

Harris moves into range and clinches up with Turol.
Turol lands an elbow inside that Harris shrugs off.
Harris goes for a takedown in the clinch but Turol prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Harris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harris is breathing heavily.
Harris wants a takedown.
Turol wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Harris is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Turol to keep the fight standing.

Harris wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Turol is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Turol is trying to push Harris away but Harris has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
With the fighters up against the cage, Turol throws an elbow but misses.
Turol misses with an elbow strike.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Turol is trying to break the clinch but Harris has him pressed against the cage.
Turol tries to break free but Harris pushes him back against the cage.
Turol is trying to force a seperation but Harris has the dominant position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harris has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Turol is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Turol gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Harris.

Turol breaks from the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turol throws a head kick that misses.
Harris gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Harris shoots in but no luck this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Richard Harris will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Turol throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Harris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turol sprawls well. Turol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harris gets slowly back to his feet.
Harris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Turol wants to clinch but Harris slips to the side

so Harris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Harris passes into half guard.
Turol wants to get back to his feet.
Turol is staying active underneath Harris, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Turol wants to get back to his feet.
Turol wants to control but Harris is keeping busy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turol is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Turol gets full guard.
Harris sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Harris stops Turol from standing up.

Turol looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Harris gets to his feet - Turol follows without any prompting.

Harris fails with an attempt to clinch.
Turol tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Harris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Turol throws a chopping leg kick but Harris manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Harris takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Turol lands with a kick to the temple. Harris shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Harris shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Turol napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harris scores with a couple of short elbows.

Harris is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Turol knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Harris prevents Turol from escaping the position.

Turol bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Turol closes the distance looking to clinch

and Harris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Harris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Harris sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Turol's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris is keen to just control but Turol is a slippery customer.
Turol is looking to escape.
Harris slows the pace down in half guard.

Turol is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Harris tries to pass the half guard into mount. Turol knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Turol looks like he's trying to stand up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harris seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Harris lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Turol thumps Harris with a low kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Turol throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Harris blocks it with crossed arms.
Harris lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Turol or not.
Harris tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Harris is trying to trip Turol. He has hold of a leg but Turol is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Harris persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Harris gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Harris tries to clinch up but Turol circles away and keeps his distance.
Harris on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Harris throws a low kick but it's checked well by Turol.

Harris shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Harris wants to control from the top but Turol keeps moving.
Turol is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Harris not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Harris avoids a punch combination nicely.

Turol wants to break free but Harris has control.

Harris lands with a short shot to the head.

Turol's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Harris closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Turol did well to prevent Harris getting side control.

Turol wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turol keeps working.

Harris decides to stand back up. Harris steps back and let's Turol get back to his feet.

Turol throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Turol stuffs the takedown.
A bone on bone clash there as Harris blocks the leg kick.
Mike Turol seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Turol missing with a left hand there. Harris was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Turol doesn't manage to clinch there - Harris circles away.
Turol lands a body shot.
Turol tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Turol paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Harris uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Turol.
Harris takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Harris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Harris.

Turol manages to break the clinch.
Harris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Turol lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Turol throws a sloppy head kick and Harris moves out of range easily.
Turol works Harris's body with a nice hook.
A big left from Turol misses.

Turol throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Turol tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harris was well out of range. Poor timing from Turol.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harris, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
