Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Jones!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mark Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr has a takedown stuffed.
Kerr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kerr looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.

Kerr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Kerr from controlling successfully.
Kerr throwing strikes but missing.
Kerr trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kerr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones closes the distance looking to clinch

and Kerr counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kerr working the ground and pound but Jones is defending the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerr misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kerr throws an elbow but Jones slips to the side and avoids it well.
Kerr scoring with punches and elbows.
Kerr looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kerr smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kerr tries to score with some ground and pound. Jones controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kerr cracks Jones with a big right hand but Jones just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Kerr has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jones is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kerr yanks on the arm and Jones is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kerr.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mark Kerr!
