The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Essa has a takedown stuffed.

Couture closes the distance and pushes Essa back into the cage.
Essa has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Couture after a bit of a struggle.
Essa tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Couture lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Waleed Essa has been cut.
Couture lands an elbow that stopped Essa in his tracks for a moment.
Couture creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Essa's defenses.
Come on Couture - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Couture misses with a knee strike.
Couture is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Essa is defending well for now.
Essa blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Couture lands an elbow inside that Essa shrugs off.

Waleed Essa's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Couture throws a knee to the head but misses.
Essa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Couture tries to land knees in the clinch but Essa avoids the damage to the body.
Couture slows down the pace here.
Essa is trying to push Couture away but Couture has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Couture.
Essa lands a left hand.
Couture pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Essa! Couture unloads with more strikes and Essa sinks to his knees! This one is all over!
