Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Grady Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Retzlaff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meyers's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Fucked Jam by Ween. Christian Retzlaff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grady Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christian Retzlaff!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyers drives through with a takedown into Retzlaff's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Meyers trying to control the position from guard on top but Retzlaff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Retzlaff is looking to stand up but Meyers isn't so interested in that idea.
Retzlaff striking off his back but it's not causing Meyers any problems.
Retzlaff is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Retzlaff is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Meyers is aware though and is defending well.
Meyers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Meyers decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Meyers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Retzlaff to the ground. Meyers is now in Retzlaff's guard.

Retzlaff is trying to keep Meyers in close.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Christian Retzlaff wasn't active enough on the ground.
Retzlaff misses with a takedown attempt - Meyers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Meyers finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Retzlaff shoots in for a double leg but Meyers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Meyers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Meyers showed some decent athleticism there.

Meyers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Retzlaff's head.

Meyers looking to sit in guard and control but Retzlaff gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Meyers looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Retzlaff scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Meyers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Retzlaff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Retzlaff wanted to stand there but Meyers had control of the position.
Meyers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Retzlaff is one step ahead there.
Meyers has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Retzlaff has passed into side control.

Retzlaff tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Retzlaff has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Meyers is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Meyers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Retzlaff counters with a takedown into side control.
Retzlaff works to advance to full mount. Meyers defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Retzlaff unloads with some shots from mount but Meyers bucks and avoids them well.
Meyers tries to lock up and control but Retzlaff gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Retzlaff is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Meyers can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Meyers is looking to get to half guard.
Retzlaff pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Retzlaff manages to capitalize on a mistake by Meyers to take his back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Meyers is trying to get back to his feet but Retzlaff has full control of the position and if anything, Meyers has just worked his way into a worse spot.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Retzlaff wants to take a breather but Meyers is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christian Retzlaff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Retzlaff tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meyers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Retzlaff somewhat.

Retzlaff fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Meyers closes the distance and pushes Retzlaff back into the cage.

Meyers throws a big right hand that misses.

Retzlaff shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meyers sprawls well. Meyers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Retzlaff gets slowly back to his feet.

A combination from Meyers does no damage.

and Meyers counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Retzlaff is lucky that one didn't land flush.

A frustrated look appears on Retzlaff's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Meyers prevents the takedown attempt.

Meyers gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Retzlaff is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Meyers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Meyers's back!
Retzlaff lands a shot to the head.
Meyers trying to control the position but Retzlaff manages to sink in the hooks.
You can see the frustration on Meyers's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Meyers staying busy and making it hard for Retzlaff to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Retzlaff has the hooks in. Meyers is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Retzlaff lands a shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Grady Meyers showed his dominance in that final round.
