PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rio Bignog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hacran Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dias has chosen Monster as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rio Bignog has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dias lands with a nice body punch.
Bignog misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dias getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bignog has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dias finds it's way round the side to connect with Bignog's head.
Dias fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dias fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bignog looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A lazy left from Dias finds it's target.
Dias scores with a nice head shot.
Dias changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bignog doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dias connects with a right hand. Bignog shakes it off.
Dias lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Bignog slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Bignog really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dias drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dias is putting a hurting on Bignog here, landing some big shots from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dias wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bignog, who protects the arm well.

Dias thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dias is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Bignog looks calm but he's in trouble here. Dias gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Bignog is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dias lets go of the hold and Bignog can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hacran Dias!
Hacran Dias decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
