The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heleta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Colt to the ground. Heleta is now in Colt's guard.
Heleta throws a strike but Colt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Colt wants to get up but he can't break Heleta's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Colt changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Heleta fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lavalu Heleta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Colt.
Heleta shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Colt defends it nicely.
Heleta throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Colt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Heleta is in Colt's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Colt can do anything to dispel that myth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Heleta is not content to let Colt control the position.

Colt won't let Heleta get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Jackson Colt tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
