Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Kei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brock Vines!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vines stuns Kei with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Kei is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vines sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Vines looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
John Kei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kei misses with a takedown attempt - Vines sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vines shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kei eats them both and turns towards Vines to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like John Kei has been cut.

Kei shoots in and gets a takedown into Vines's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kei is looking to work some ground and pound but Vines has wrist control.
Kei loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kei drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vines manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kei has Vines in his guard.

Kei looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Vines passes into half guard.

Vines decides to return to a standing position.
Vines connects with a single shot there.
Kei takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kei shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vines but Vines pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Kei. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kei dodges the punch combination from Vines.

Kei gets the takedown into side control.
Kei in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Vines defending against the ground and pound.

Vines sneaks out the side door and pushes Kei away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Kei fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Vines connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Kei covering up! Vines comes in with a big uppercut and Kei goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brock Vines!
