Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eion Ried (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eion Ried has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rob Duffy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Duffy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eion Ried!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ried pushes Duffy up against the cage in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Ried has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Duffy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ried is not going to allow Duffy to sit and survive in this position.
Ried lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Duffy is trapped and Ried is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Ried trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Duffy doesn't escape.
Duffy trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Duffy is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Ried.

Ried is landing with strikes. Duffy can't take much more of this.

Duffy looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
You can see the frustration on Duffy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Duffy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ried gets his way!
Duffy turns into Ried and is now in his guard.

Ried is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Duffy defends well.

Ried wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ried thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Duffy trying to control the position from guard on top but Ried is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ried is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ried working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duffy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duffy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ried wriggles free and stands up.
Duffy leaves Ried with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ried avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ried shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Duffy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ried wants to control from the top but Duffy keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

It looks like Eion Ried has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Duffy or perhaps it was just good defense by Ried which made him look bad.

Ried fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Duffy, pushing him back against the cage.
Duffy jumps guard but Ried stands there with Duffy around his waist. Duffy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ried pulls guard.
Ried wants to sweep but no luck.

Ried kicks Duffy off and gets to his feet.
Duffy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ried as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Duffy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ried leaves Duffy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Duffy closes the distance and clinches up with Ried, looking for a takedown. Duffy pushes Ried against the cage but Ried circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Duffy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ried just stands there and leans against the cage.

Duffy looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Ried passes into side control.
Duffy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Ried decides to stand up, so the ref orders Duffy to his feet.
Ried closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duffy circles away.
Ried avoids the body shot from Duffy.
Duffy throws the kick towards the body but Ried avoids it.
Duffy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ried counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Ried clinches with his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ried jumps into guard, dragging Duffy to the mat.

Ried is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Duffy is aware though and is defending well.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ried holds on and takes a little breather.

Ried working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duffy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duffy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ried is looking for a triangle but Duffy pushes his legs off easily.
Duffy wants to control from the top but Ried keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ried can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rob Duffy.
Duffy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ried defends it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Eion Ried showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Duffy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ried can pounce on him.
No joy there for Duffy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Duffy gets caught napping as Ried dives in and scores a takedown. Duffy manages to retain guard.
Ried is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Duffy wants to get back to his feet but Ried is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Duffy is working an open guard so Ried takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Duffy wants to clinch up but Ried keeps it at a distance.
Duffy darts in trying to clinch
and Ried counters with a nice leg kick.
Duffy misses with a low kick.
Ried shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duffy pinned against the cage. Duffy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ried defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Duffy.

Ried bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Duffy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ried is controlling him well.
Ried passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Duffy!

Ried is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Ried rushes Duffy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Ried seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Eion Ried comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ried winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
