The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brasi's waist but Brasi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bertane off to one side.

Bertane closes the distance and pushes Brasi back into the cage.
Brasi has a couple of punches blocked by Bertane.
Brasi scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Bertane is working for takedown but Brasi is calmly controlling the position for now.

Brasi drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Earl Bertane will probably get the nod.

Brasi throws the left hand but Bertane avoids the punch easily.
Bertane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brasi is fending him off so far but Bertane persists. Nope, Brasi circles away and we're back to standing.

and Bertane decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brasi's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brasi tries to roll over but Bertane keeps him under control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Brasi has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Bertane escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Bertane!

Bertane is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brasi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bertane working the strikes but Brasi uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Brasi has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Bertane. Oh but Brasi has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Bertane goes limp - he's gone! Brasi jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
