The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sobral's guard.

Sobral looking for a guillotine here but Silva defends easily.

Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sobral has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sobral swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sobral looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Silva has picked Sobral up and slammed him! Sobral can't keep hold of the triangle and Silva manages to pass to side control!

Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Silva swings around for an armbar but Sobral sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Silva's guard.

Sobral is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sobral to get the leverage.
Sobral not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Sobral lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
