Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincenzo Calliente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhang Zhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhu tries a low kick but Calliente avoids it.
Zhu lands with a kick to the temple. Calliente shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Danga de danga de dang - Calliente scores with a four punch combination!
Zhu throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jab, jab by Calliente - just one landing.
Zhu lands a nice looking body kick.
Calliente tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zhu was well out of range. Poor timing from Calliente.
Zhu throws a head kick that half lands.
Zhu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Zhu slaps away a takedown attempt from Calliente, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Calliente throws a left and a right that both miss

and Zhu counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Calliente is pushing Zhu's head away, looking to escape. Zhu manages to hold on to the position though.
Zhu wants to control but Calliente is keeping him busy.
Calliente is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Zhu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calliente keeps working.
Calliente pushes Zhu away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Zhu gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Zhu misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Calliente parries the strikes from Zhu easily there. Zhu is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Calliente to escape.

Calliente is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Calliente is looking for a sweep. Zhu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Zhu is pressing down on Calliente's thigh, looking to free his foot. Calliente is holding on for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Calliente regains half guard there - taking advantage of Zhu's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Calliente throws a nice looking combination but Zhu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Vincenzo Calliente is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Zhu shoots in for a double leg but Calliente sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Zhu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Calliente tries to avoid it but Zhu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Calliente to the ground. Calliente escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zhu throws a leg kick but Calliente sees it coming and moves out of range.

Zhu walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Calliente checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Zhu looks to land a body kick but Calliente moved away.
Calliente throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Calliente moves out of range of the body kick.
Zhu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zhu tries to land a front kick but Calliente steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zhu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Calliente changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zhu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Calliente wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zhu keeps working.

Calliente is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Calliente tries to kick Zhu off but Zhu keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vincenzo Calliente will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

A jab from Calliente finds it's way through Zhu's defenses.
Calliente throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zhu.

Calliente feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
