Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Chalas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chalas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Chalas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Chalas drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Chalas fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Chalas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson misses with a body punch.
Chalas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chalas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Johnson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chalas after a bit of a struggle.

Johnson tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Chalas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Chalas ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chalas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Chalas seems keen to control Johnson's posture.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson is keen to just control but Chalas is a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chalas wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luis Chalas will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
