The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Saito escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Michael gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Saito tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Saito is looking to stand up but Michael isn't so interested in that idea.
Saito throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Michael tries to free his leg and advance position but Saito is retaining full guard.
Michael drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Michael jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Michael trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Saito is trying to control the position but Michael postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Saito misses with a takedown attempt
and Michael counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Saito!
Michael wants to take Saito's back but he can't do it this time.
Saito is trying desperately to improve position.
Saito is working hard here to advance position.
Michael looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Saito tries to hold on but Michael pushes him away.
Michael looking for a guillotine from mount but Saito is having none of it.
Saito regains half guard.
Saito is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Michael is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Saito defends it well.

Michael seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Saito is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
