The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Speer digs a good body shot into BayawaK's ribs.

Speer gets tackled into the cage by BayawaK. BayawaK maintains the clinch.
Speer is defending well against a takedown attempt.
BayawaK is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Speer is defending well.
Speer working aggressively here.
The referee is keeping an eye on BayawaK - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
BayawaK has Speer pushed against the cage.
Speer misses with a hook to the ribs.

BayawaK walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
BayawaK takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Speer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches BayawaK on the side of the head.
Speer misses with an uppercut. BayawaK saw that one coming.
BayawaK throws a hook but Speer avoids it easily.
Speer scoring well with a low kick there.
Speer misses with a looping right.
Speer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from BayawaK.

letting Speer counter with a right hand.
Speer catches BayawaK with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
BayawaK looks to score with a jab to the body but Speer is just out of range.
BayawaK checks a low kick from Speer.
Speer is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
BayawaK swings for the body but Speer moves out of range.
Speer throws the left hand but BayawaK avoids the punch easily.

Speer tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and BayawaK is able to avoid easily.
Heinrich Speer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

BayawaK throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Speer's waist but Speer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing BayawaK off to one side.
Speer connects with a right hand. BayawaK shakes it off.
Speer lands with a hook. BayawaK tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Speer tries to land a leg kick but BayawaK saw it coming and moves away.
BayawaK shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Speer pinned against the cage. Speer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A nice inside leg kick there by Speer. That's going to slow BayawaK down.
Speer lands with an overhand left.
Speer misses with a few strikes there.
Speer misses with a body shot.
Speer misses with a wild body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Speer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
BayawaK misses with a hook. Speer ducked under it nicely.

Speer tries to keep at a distance but BayawaK has taken the fight into the clinch.
BayawaK is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Speer trying to stall but BayawaK improves his position.

BayawaK blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

BayawaK has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Speer clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Speer looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
BayawaK scores with punches from the back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
BayawaK scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

Speer is covering up but some of the strikes from BayawaK are getting through and doing damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
BayawaK lands a shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

BayawaK working for a choke but Speer is defending well.

BayawaK lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
BayawaK is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Speer. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BayawaK connects with a big shot to the side of Speer's head.

BayawaK working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Heinrich Speer.
I think Speer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
