The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garciea shoots in but Gardner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Garciea doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gardner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gardner lands a jab to the nose.
Gardner misses with a jab, cross combination.
Garciea moves out of range of the strikes.
Nice uppercut there from Gardner.
Gardner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gardner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gardner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Garciea tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gardner is in Garciea's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Garciea is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gardner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Garciea with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Garciea has hold of Gardner's hands but Gardner slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gardner passes to side control.
Garciea tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gardner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gardner wants to pass to mount but Garciea is defending the position.
Gardner is thwarting Garciea's attempts to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gardner winds up and cracks Garciea with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gardner is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Garciea pushes Gardner off but Gardner dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gardner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Garciea to see if he's OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gardner has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Gardner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Garciea's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gardner lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Gardner lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Gardner dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gardner misses with the combination.
Gardner jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gardner tries to score with a low kick but Garciea moves his leg out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gardner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Gardner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gardner closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Gardner scores with a jab. Garciea acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Garciea takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Garciea takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Garciea is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Garciea shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Garciea looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Aaron Gardner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Garciea.
Gardner feints a jab promting Garciea to slip. Gardner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Garciea slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Garciea is still on wobbly legs! Can Gardner finish him?

Gardner lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Garciea is looking to close the distance but Gardner sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Garciea crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Garciea is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
