The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Laine tenderised Watson's leg. Watson is trying to keep his angry face on.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Watson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Laine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Watson manages to avoid it.

Watson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Watson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Laine is trying to defend but Watson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Watson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Laine's head.

Watson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Laine defends it well.
Watson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Laine is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Laine fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Watson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Laine throws a leg kick which misses Watson's front leg but catches the back leg as Watson tries to avoid it.
Laine uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Watson.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Laine wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Laine, as that shot connected.

Watson wants to pass the guard but Laine is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Watson won't allow Laine to get back to his feet.

Watson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Watson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Laine has his hands clasped together but Watson extends an breaks Laine's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Watson.
