PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby American (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Kringle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). American comes into the arena with Born in the USA blaring out of the sound system. Kris Kringle told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from American enables Kringle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. American manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kringle gets to his feet - American follows without any prompting.
Kringle cracks American with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kringle leaves American with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Kringle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kringle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

American is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kringle connects with a decent elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby American. That's going to take a lot out of him.

American is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Kringle - that's hurt American badly! Oh, another knee lands and American is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but American doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Kris Kringle!
