The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul wants to clinch up but Reddiggan keeps it at a distance.
Reddiggan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Paul. Paul obviously looking to wear him down.

Reddiggan gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reddiggan is looking to advance position but Paul won't allow it.
Paul trying to control but Reddiggan postures up.
Paul is trying to get back to full guard.
Reddiggan trying to control the action but Paul is working from the bottom.

Reddiggan is looking for a kimura but Paul is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Reddiggan to get the leverage.

Reddiggan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Paul is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Reddiggan trying to pass the guard but Paul defending well.

Paul looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Reddiggan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paul keeps working.
Paul knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reddiggan on the ground.
Reddiggan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Paul is wriggling around trying to escape.
Reddiggan looking to ground and pound but Paul is blocking nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Reddiggan is working for a guillotine from mount but Paul frees his head quite easily.
Reddiggan looks gassed!

Reddiggan moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Paul has worked his arm free - good work by Paul!
Paul is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Paul's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Reddiggan prevents Paul from escaping the position.
Paul is looking to regain half guard here but Reddiggan keeps moving and retains side control.

Reddiggan is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Paul looks calm but he's in trouble here. Reddiggan gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Paul is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Reddiggan lets go of the hold and Paul can pop his arm back in it's socket.
