PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Albert DeSalvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valefor McCarron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Albert DeSalvo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Valefor McCarron!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeSalvo connects with a crisp jab.
McCarron has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
McCarron fails with a takedown attempt.
DeSalvo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McCarron looks to clinch
and DeSalvo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

DeSalvo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McCarron to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
DeSalvo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McCarron trying to control but DeSalvo is working from the bottom.
DeSalvo wants to stand up but McCarron is controlling him.
DeSalvo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCarron on the ground.
McCarron wants to control from the top but DeSalvo keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DeSalvo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and McCarron manages to pass to side control.
DeSalvo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McCarron is looking to take a break and control but DeSalvo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
DeSalvo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McCarron.
DeSalvo wants to get back to full guard but McCarron has mounted him!

McCarron working for a submission but DeSalvo is keeping him at bay.
DeSalvo is desperately trying to improve his position but McCarron has a good base and remains in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McCarron is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. DeSalvo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCarron wants to control the pace but DeSalvo is squirming around nicely.
DeSalvo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
DeSalvo is working hard here to advance position.
DeSalvo is trying to stand up.
McCarron content just to control the position here.
McCarron trying to control but DeSalvo is having none of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCarron takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
DeSalvo is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
DeSalvo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
DeSalvo is squirming around, avoiding McCarron's attempts to control the action.
DeSalvo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
McCarron trying to control but he's not successful this time.

McCarron get's back to his feet.
DeSalvo tests McCarron's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
DeSalvo keeps the fight on the outside.
DeSalvo cracks a nice hook into McCarron's ribs.
McCarron doesn't manage to clinch there - DeSalvo circles away.
Good standup being displayed there by DeSalvo as he connects with a hook.
DeSalvo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCarron tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. DeSalvo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Albert DeSalvo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeSalvo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
McCarron takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
McCarron looks for a takedown but DeSalvo sprawls well.
McCarron drops his hands momentarily and DeSalvo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McCarron misses with a body kick.
DeSalvo's jab looks to have found its range, popping McCarron under the eye.
DeSalvo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McCarron momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Albert DeSalvo dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


DeSalvo slaps away a takedown attempt from McCarron, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McCarron wants to clinch.
DeSalvo looks to land a combination. McCarron sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
DeSalvo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Albert DeSalvo is winning the standup battle so far.
McCarron tries to clinch up but DeSalvo circles away and keeps his distance.
McCarron on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
McCarron walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
McCarron finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
McCarron moves forwards but DeSalvo connects with a nice, crisp jab.


It looks like Valefor McCarron has been cut.
DeSalvo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
DeSalvo jabs McCarron to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for DeSalvo.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DeSalvo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
DeSalvo lands with an uppercut that bounces McCarron off the cage and back into range.
DeSalvo lands a right hook to the body.
McCarron is breathing heavily.
A cross from DeSalvo lands.
DeSalvo closes the distance and lands a one-two.


McCarron is rocked!
McCarron takes one on the chin but seems OK.
McCarron is still on wobbly legs! Can DeSalvo finish him?
DeSalvo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and DeSalvo wants it to stay on the feet.
McCarron walks straight into a right hand from DeSalvo - that's dropped him! DeSalvo jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save McCarron from any more punishment! McCarron complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Albert DeSalvo!
