Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Toru Ohta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tokyo Drift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ohta comes to the cage accompanied by Technopolis. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toru Ohta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tokyo Drift!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drift defending well as Ohta loads up on a big left hand.
Ohta lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Drift misses with a few strikes there.
Ohta drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ohta lands a nice shot to the body.
Drift lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ohta circles away quickly and effectively.
Drift throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ohta counters with a right hand to the body.

Ohta fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Drift, pushing him back against the cage.
Ohta tries to throw a body punch but Drift avoids it by throwing Ohta back against the cage.
Drift tries to break the clinch but Ohta is controlling the position.
Drift working hard to break the clinch.
Drift wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ohta content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Drift is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Ohta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Drift will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Drift lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ohta circles away quickly and effectively.
Drift misses with a takedown attempt

and Ohta counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ohta.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Drift throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ohta sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Drift's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ohta works his way into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drift in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Ohta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ohta scoring with strikes but Drift is staying in there.
Ohta raining down shots from the mount!


Drift is rocked!
Ohta takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Drift is still in real trouble! Can Ohta finish him?

Ohta swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Toru Ohta!
In his post fight interview, Toru Ohta started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
