Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Ak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Sergei Ak has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sergei Ak seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoffman takes the fight into the clinch.

Hoffman pulls guard effortlessly.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hoffman controls Ak momentarily but Ak frees himself.

Hoffman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hoffman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hoffman keeping moving, preventing Ak from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ak is desperately trying to improve his position but Hoffman has a good base and remains in mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ak is in trouble now - Hoffman has advanced to mount!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hoffman goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ak is on top in guard.

Ak loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hoffman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hoffman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
