The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tanner has time to react.
Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Davis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tanner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Davis dives in and grabs Tanner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanner pushes down on Davis's head and hops out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Tanner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Tanner lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tanner gets through Davis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Davis jumps guard but Tanner stands there with Davis around his waist. Davis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Phil Davis will probably get the nod.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Davis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Davis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Davis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mr Phil Davis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Davis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
