Boans's entrance music is Round and Round by Ratt. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Smackthatcow's choice of entrance music: Wretches & Kings. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smackthatcow misses with a head kick.

It looks like Jon Boans has been cut.

Boans stuns Smackthatcow with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Boans counters with a single leg into guard. Smackthatcow didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Boans drops back looking for a leg! Smackthatcow is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smackthatcow manages to kick Boans off! Boans jumps back into Smackthatcow's guard.
Boans postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boans chips away with some ground and pound.
Smackthatcow can't keep his opponent in guard - Boans advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smackthatcow can do anything to dispel that myth.

Boans looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boans has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smackthatcow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Boans postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Smackthatcow out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Boans goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Jon Boans really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Mango Nutrition (90% Laundry) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
