PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Cody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Kesler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cody comes to the ring accompanied by Can't be Touched. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Cody throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kesler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cody as he jumps to the side.
Cody misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cody throws a series of punches but Kesler moves out of range.
Cody throws a sloppy head kick and Kesler moves out of range easily.
Cody throws a series of punches but Kesler moves out of range.
Cody tries to clinch but Kesler moves out of range.
Cody stuffs the takedown.
Kesler tries to clinch but Cody moves out of range.
Cody's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Cody duly obliges.
Kesler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cody tries to avoid it but Kesler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cody to the ground. Cody escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bruce Cody has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Kesler.
Cody is looking to clinch.

Kesler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kesler wants to stand up but Cody has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Cody is looking for a sweep. Kesler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kesler is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cody manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cody is trying to control the position but Kesler postures up.
Cody is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cody wants to stand up but Kesler is controlling him.
Kesler wants to pass the guard but Cody is keeping the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cody tries to clinch up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cody misses with a double jab.
Cody is breathing heavily.
Kesler stuffs the takedown.
Kesler throws a nice looking combination but Cody bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cody throws a sloppy head kick and Kesler moves out of range easily.
Cody stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kesler.
Kesler moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Kesler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cody, pushing him back against the ropes.

Cody breaks from the clinch.
Kesler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bruce Cody seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kesler misses with a two punch combination.
Cody tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Are you kidding me?! Cody ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Kesler clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
