Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Florencio Bernardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Mashinko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bernardo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Una Vela. Mike Mashinko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Florencio Bernardo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Mashinko!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernardo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mashinko backs up against the cage.

Mashinko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bernardo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mashinko.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bernardo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Florencio Bernardo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
