The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdonald tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Santos swivels and escapes.
Santos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mcdonald!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcdonald can do anything to dispel that myth.
Santos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mcdonald has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mcdonald tries to hold on but Santos pushes him away.
Mcdonald has given up his back.
Mcdonald turns into Santos and is now in his guard.
Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcdonald gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mcdonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Santos is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Mcdonald frees his head nicely. Oh but Santos has switched to an armbar! Mcdonald is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
