Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Basilan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Scheckler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scheckler throws a body kick that misses.
Scheckler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Basilan circles away quickly and effectively.
Basilan thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Scheckler if he has to take too many more of those.

Scheckler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Basilan, who protects the arm well.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Basilan has cracked Scheckler with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Basilan lands another huge swinging hook and Scheckler tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Scheckler, before Basilan can land any more shots!
