PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Boxer Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter has chosen "O Canada" (Rock Version) as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Joe Boxer Jr has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joe Boxer Jr seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter avoids the head kick by Boxer Jr.
Boxer Jr's jab looks to have found its range, popping Carter under the eye.
Carter misses with a wild combination.
Boxer Jr throws a head kick but Carter moves out of range.
Carter is looking to clinch.
Boxer Jr misses with a looping right.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carter.
Boxer Jr explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Good leg kick by Boxer Jr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Carter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boxer Jr sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boxer Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Carter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boxer Jr throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Boxer Jr fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Carter has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Carter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boxer Jr.

Joe Boxer Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carter steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Boxer Jr. That one must have hurt.

Carter's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Carter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Boxer Jr.

Joe Boxer Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carter tries to clinch there but Boxer Jr circles away.

Carter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Carter shoots in looking for a takedown. Boxer Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Carter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boxer Jr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice inside leg kick there by Boxer Jr. That's going to slow Carter down.
Boxer Jr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Boxer Jr's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Carter is fighting to break Boxer Jr's control of his arms but Boxer Jr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Boxer Jr looking for a guillotine here but Carter defends easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Boxer Jr has his hands on Carter's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Carter tries to clinch but Boxer Jr is having none of it.
Boxer Jr leaves Carter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carter on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Carter's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Boxer Jr connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Carter scrambles back to his feet.
Boxer Jr feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Carters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Boxer Jr lands an overhand right.
Carter swinging wildly here.
Carter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Boxer Jr scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Boxer Jr feints a jab promting Carter to slip. Boxer Jr then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carter slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Daniel Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carter fails to land with a series of punches.
Carter shoots in looking for a takedown but Boxer Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carter moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Donk. Boxer Jr catches Carter right on the button with a cross.
Boxer Jr connects with an inside leg kick.
Boxer Jr turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boxer Jr pinned against the cage. Boxer Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Carter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That's time! Boxer Jr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Carter looks to score with a jab to the body but Boxer Jr is just out of range.
Boxer Jr is looking to slow Carter down with leg kicks.

Carter falls off balance throwing a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Boxer Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boxer Jr throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily.
Boxer Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Carter on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Carter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carter is thwarting Boxer Jr's attempts to control the position.

Boxer Jr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Carter is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Boxer Jr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carter moves nicely into side control.
Boxer Jr is looking to regain half guard here but Carter keeps moving and retains side control.

Boxer Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Boxer Jr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boxer Jr tries to get out of the position.
Carter is looking to take a break and control but Boxer Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boxer Jr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Carter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Boxer Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carter on the ground.

Boxer Jr pushes Carter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Carter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Carter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Carter has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Boxer Jr is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Carter yanks on the arm and Boxer Jr is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Carter.
