Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Kerns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerns comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Cash - Hurt. Reed has chosen Jean Baptiste Lully - Marche Royale as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Kerns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Oliver Reed!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerns scores with a jab to the head.
Reed throws a leg kick
and Kerns counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Reed throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kerns throws a leg kick but Reed checks it.
Reed keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kerns.

and Kerns connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kerns throws a combination. Reed tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Reed counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Kerns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kerns connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Kerns has Reed pressed against the cage, preventing Reed from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Kerns will probably get the nod.

Reed throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Reed has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I would just about give that final round to Oliver Reed.
Well Kerns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
