PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Werdumov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Training Partner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Werdumov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to wait and bleed. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Werdumov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Training Partner!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Partner fails with a takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Werdumov.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Partner has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Werdumov after a bit of a struggle.
Fedor Werdumov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Training Partner.

Werdumov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Partner has his takedown stuffed
and Werdumov counters with a left and a right that stings Partner.
Werdumov throws a quick inside leg kick.
Partner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Werdumov circles away.
Partner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Werdumov swivels and escapes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Werdumov closes the distance and clinches.
Werdumov throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Partner blocks it with crossed arms.

Werdumov breaks from the clinch.
Partner misses with a takedown
and Werdumov makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Partner really felt that one!
Partner looks gassed!
Werdumov throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Training Partner has been cut.
Partner takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Werdumov moves into the clinch successfully.
Werdumov scores with a knee to the head.
The referee calls for Werdumov to work.

Werdumov manages to break the clinch.
Partner doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Werdumov counters with a head kick that drops Partner to the mat! Partner scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Partner is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Werdumov throws a nice outside leg kick.
Werdumov thows a body kick. Partner tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Partner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Werdumov feints a jab and as Partner dips his head, Werdumov unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Partner right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Partner falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Werdumov smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Fedor Werdumov!
A relieved looking Fedor Werdumov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
