Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Lice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maya comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Spitfire kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maya looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lice is fending him off so far but Maya persists. Nope, Lice circles away and we're back to standing.
Lice tries to clinch up but Maya circles away and keeps his distance.
Maya lands a head shot.
Maya shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lice sprawls well. Lice wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maya gets slowly back to his feet.
Maya keeps the fight on the outside.
Maya misses with a takedown
and Lice counters with a straight right hand.
Kimbo Lice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Maya.
Maya shoots in for a double leg but Lice sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lice wants to clinch up but Maya keeps it at a distance.

Horrible takedown by Maya or perhaps it was just good defense by Lice which made him look bad.
Maya throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lice's waist but Lice gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maya off to one side.

Lice struggles to land a body shot inside as Maya controls his hands.
Lice can't find room to land a body shot as Maya controls the action.
Lice lands an uppercut.
Lice is pressed up against the cage. Maya has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lice down to the mat. Lice avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lice throws a shot from downtown. Maya moves away and avoids it.
Maya slips a straight right by Lice.
Maya shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maya on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Maya fails with the takedown.
A jab from Lice misses.
Lice fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maya.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maya fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lice avoids it really well and circles away.
Lice displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maya.

Lice lands a left hand that snaps the head of Maya backwards.
Lice trying to control the position but instead, Maya has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lice into the cage.

Maya is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lice pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Lice lands with a left to the head.

Lice works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Maya is still on wobbly legs! Can Lice finish him?

Lice pushes Maya against the cage. Lice is working some dirty boxing. Lice pushes off with a quick right hook! Maya goes down! Maya tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Lice moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
