Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyle Kikyerass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Redding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Redding is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyle Kikyerass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Redding!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kikyerass tries to clinch up but Redding circles away and keeps his distance.
Redding is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kikyerass.
Redding throws a right hand that Kikyerass ducks under and follows up with a left that Kikyerass also avoids with ease.
Redding misses with a right hand

and Kikyerass counters with a takedown into side control.
Redding is looking for a sweep.
Kikyerass postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kikyerass tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Redding tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kikyerass wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kikyerass looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Redding is avoiding damage well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Redding can do anything to dispel that myth.
Redding parries the strikes from Kikyerass easily there. Kikyerass is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Redding to escape.
Redding dodges the ground and pound from Kikyerass.
Kikyerass working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Redding is trying to control Kikyerass's posture but Kikyerass avoids it.
Redding takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.


It looks like Tom Redding has been cut.

Redding tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kikyerass is putting a hurting on Redding here, landing some big shots from side control.


That has opened up Tom Redding's cut even more.
Redding managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kikyerass.
Kikyerass cracks Redding with a big right hand but Redding just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.


The cut above Tom Redding's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Redding tries to bench press Kikyerass off him but Kikyerass keeps the position.

Kikyerass is trying to get an arm triangle but Redding is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Redding struggling a bit here.
Redding sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Kikyerass has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kikyerass wants to advance to full mount but Redding doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kikyerass drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Redding manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kikyerass has Redding in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Redding got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kikyerass has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Redding has managed to get both his arms back between Kikyerass's legs - danger averted.

Kikyerass has an active guard here but Redding has managed to pass into half guard.
Kikyerass is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Redding scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Redding wants to pass the guard but Kikyerass is defending well.
Kikyerass moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Redding stands up over Kikyerass, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Redding stands and steps away. Kikyerass gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kikyerass tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Redding manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tom Redding will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Kikyerass counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kikyerass.

Redding is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kikyerass is controlling him.
Kikyerass throws an elbow that misses. Redding uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kikyerass's guard. Nice move by Redding!

Redding avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Redding is stalling in the full guard.

Redding stands and steps away. Kikyerass gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kikyerass fails in his attempt to clinch.
Redding looks to land a left hand but Kikyerass moved out of range nicely.
Kikyerass bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A jab from Redding finds it's way through Kikyerass's defenses.

and Kikyerass moves into the clinch.

It looks like Lyle Kikyerass has been cut.
Redding slowing the pace effectively.

Kikyerass tumbles to the floor! Redding threw a big shot that dropped him and now Redding is on top looking to finish! Kikyerass has guard but can he survive?!


Kikyerass is rocked!
Redding postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Kikyerass's head off the mat! Kikyerass is out! He's out! Redding jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!
