The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Alvarez gets tackled into the cage by Van Geeren. Van Geeren maintains the clinch.
Alvarez blocks an elbow strike from Van Geeren.
Van Geeren creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Nice elbow from Van Geeren.
Alvarez blocks the elbow strike.
Van Geeren throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Alvarez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alvarez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Van Geeren to keep the fight standing.
Alvarez pulls Van Geeren into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Van Geeren got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Van Geeren has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarez's legs - danger averted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvarez has his feet on Van Geeren's thighs here. He's pushed Van Geeren off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Van Geeren screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
