Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jukko Hamalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duggan comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera -Slaughtered. Hamalainen has chosen the Finnish National Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hamalainen manages to avoid it.
Duggan jabs Hamalainen to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hamalainen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Duggan.

Hamalainen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hamalainen looks to score some points with some ground and pound.


It looks like Jim Duggan has been cut.

Duggan actively working from the bottom here.
Duggan wants to get back to full guard.
Duggan won't allow Hamalainen to pass to mount.

Duggan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hamalainen pulls his head out easily.

Hamalainen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Duggan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hamalainen slips a nice elbow through Duggan's hands, connecting with Duggan's forehead.

Hamalainen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Duggan is just riding it out for now. Hamalainen eventually gives up the hold.
Duggan is staying active underneath Hamalainen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hamalainen wants to work for an arm triangle but Duggan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hamalainen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duggan's head.
Hamalainen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hamalainen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Duggan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hamalainen is looking to take a break and control but Duggan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hamalainen connects with a nice short shot to Duggan's temple.
The fighters are battling for position here. Duggan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Duggan is looking to stand up but Hamalainen isn't so interested in that idea.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hamalainen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Hamalainen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hamalainen wants to control from the top but Duggan keeps moving.

Duggan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hamalainen!

Duggan avoids the attempt from Hamalainen to control.
Hamalainen holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Duggan tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hamalainen tries to improve his position but instead Duggan has taken his back!
Hamalainen has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Duggan.
Hamalainen tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Hamalainen is trying to reverse the position but instead Duggan has taken his back - oops!

Hamalainen looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hamalainen rolls, trying to escape but Duggan keeps control of the position.
Duggan somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Hamalainen wants to control his opponent's hands but Duggan gets his hands free.

Duggan is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hamalainen with him. Hamalainen is trying to defend but Duggan has an arm under the chin now! Hamalainen grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jim Duggan!
